Katy’s lace gown from Laura’s Couture paired with Anthony’s uniform were the ideal attire for their classic winter wedding, featuring overall color choices of navy, ivory and gold.
The couple brought in framed photos from their family’s past weddings. This was a perfect personal touch, particularly given their love of history and tradition.
The mansion’s many one-of-a-kind fireplaces always add such a beautiful warmth to winter events! With a January 4 date, Katy and Anthony were able to retain the winter themed décor on all of the fireplace mantles provided earlier for the holidays by a team of professionals from JT Designs. Kelly Acock, owner of Monarch Floral, provided beautiful flowers for the bridal party and reception tables (also used for the bridal brunch and rehearsal dinner events at the mansion the day before), and had fun adding in many elegant items from the mansion’s extensive décor room.
The “unexpected twists” included an extensive, customized Heavy Appetizer Buffet that featured Smoked Prime Rib and a “Potato-Tini and Bacon Bar.” This station included Roasted Garlic and Sour Cream Whipped Potatoes, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, assorted flavors of Bacon wrapped through skewers and displayed in weathered wood, and Bacon-wrapped Dates, Water Chestnuts and Burnt Ends … served in martini glasses! This was designed for the groom who LOVES bacon and had been recently deprived while serving his country overseas. Other food surprises served during the cocktail hour and later during dancing included Tomato Bisque Shooters with Mini Grilled Cheese, Hand-rolled Sushi, Fried Pickles, Soft Pretzel Bites served with Jalapeno Con Queso, Quesadillas, and Mini Italian Sausage and Barbeque Chicken Pizzas. The food choices were delicious and fun, and helped create an unforgettable evening!
A favorite moment with another “twist” was the First Dance, which involved the entire wedding party singing an old-time classic, “I’ve Got the World on a String” with both piano and trumpet accompaniment provided by family members. Adorable! All the groomsmen had customized shirts with sleeves made with personalized fabric. More fun followed for guests when The Michael Beers Band started playing up in the 3rd level Ballroom, and guests stopped on the way up to receive their personalized sunglasses and glo necklaces … a must that night for dancing! A creative photo booth provided by Captured Memories and placed on the second level had guests in and out all evening for memorable photos to take home!
The couple’s exit was absolutely gorgeous! The snow had just started to fall, and their classic car from Pech Limousine picked them up … it was truly the perfect way to end their winter wedding day!
