We love perusing styled shoots on wedding blogs looking for new and fun ideas to share with our clients! On a recent wintery day, we decided to create our own styled shoot at Loose Mansion with a small bridal brunch in mind! Following are images provided by Abbey Leigh Photography to share a plan for a bridal brunch with ideas that could easily be applied to other types of events, including larger wedding receptions!
Loose Mansion is an historic Kansas City mansion that is over 107 years old, originally built and owned by Ella and Jacob Loose. If only these walls could talk! Ella was famous for her ability to entertain, and she and Jacob entertained some of Washington D.C.’s most elite, famous World War I generals, and even royalty at Loose Mansion. It’s a given that anything vintage works well within our walls! With our history in mind and Ella’s tea parties that she loved, our backdrop for our inspiration shoot is both elegant and vintage, with colors of gold, silver, white, green, and a touch of pink, purple and blue. We used a damask fabric for table linens to add depth and texture. From our storage rooms, we picked table décor that included gold and silver mercury glass pieces, vintage silver footed bowls, small cake stands, striped gold and silver candle holders, and floral vintage tea pots! We wanted the décor to spread the length of the table, and incorporated white hydrangeas, mums and daisies, and lots of eucalyptus and pine (which smelled AMAZING), and candlelight! (Boo and hiss to anyone who says candlelight should not be used for daytime events!) We also used gold flatware, and gold rimmed glassware, which added even more elegance to this table scape!
Little details can make a big difference! We added a twig at each place setting that was a perfect touch! And, created signage for the shoot, which we love for any event {see our previous blog post regarding event signage}! Signage is a helpful guide for your guests, but also adds to your colors and can create a theme! We created a few fun signs, an invitation suite, and place cards for assigned seating. We wanted the invitations to be a bit more modern but still match our color scheme.
To add in some food for our shoot, our chefs whipped up a couple items! We enjoyed some donut holes with shots of cold milk and a favorite mansion dessert, Mixed Berries in an Almond Shell, topped with Vanilla Sauce and Sweetened Whipped Cream, with coffee and tea to top it off! Loose Mansion’s chefs have created a new Breakfast Menu with some decadent and delicious menu options for your next brunch event! We can’t wait to try them all! I’m dreaming about the French Toast Stuffed with Cinnamon-Vanilla Mascarpone with Apple-Raisin Compote … oh gosh, maybe the Cinnamon Raisin Brioche French Toast … or maybe the Cherry Pistachio French Toast … well, definitely French Toast!
