What makes you … you? What is unique about your fiancé? What special talents do you or your fiancé have? What about family members? When your family gets together, are there any unique traditions that you like to share? What foods or drinks do you most enjoy? What always makes you laugh? Is there something fun or unique about the way you met or how you first realized you were in love? These are questions to ask yourself in looking for ways to make your event unique!
Here are a few ideas from past clients to help jump-start your thinking:
One couple’s all time favorite drink was summer brew, and they often made batches at home when they invited friends over … their decision for a specialty drink was a “no brainer!” Another couple brews their own beer, and shared it as well as other specialty beers.
We’ve had clients personalize their event with photos from their engagement shoot and/or photos while dating, places they’ve traveled to, guests at the wedding, past family weddings, antique cars they love, old movies and old movie stars, childhood photos, and more. Whether you use them on mantles, incorporate them into centerpieces or on specialty tables, your photos will personalize your event and make the event space your own!
Interactive Ceremony Programs
This particular ceremony program was helpful for guests to know who’s who in the bridal party, but also provided some fun information about the couple for their guests to read while waiting for the ceremony to begin.
Not so Hidden Talents
One of my favorite weddings I shot was Sara and David’s wedding. They were both incredible musicians. When Sara played the flute for David as her “gift” to him, I struggled with teary eyes behind the lens! Another bride and groom we’ll never forget were opera singers, and many of their guests were as well. Every toast was sung! If you, your fiancé, family member or friends have special talents, think about incorporating them in your big day! This is the kind of thing that will help make your day unforgettable and unique!
